On the 50th anniversary of Earth Day, Canalway Partners senior advisor, Tim Donovan, took Facebook Live viewers on a virtual tour of the route of the ‘Procession of Death” where in 1970, 1,000 Cleveland State University students and teachers marched through downtown Cleveland to the shoreline of the Cuyahoga River. They joined millions of others across the U.S. for history’s first mass demonstration for a more livable environment. Below are links to each of the six virtual tour stops.

– Cleveland State University

– Settlers Landing/Cuyahoga River

– Cleveland Fire Station 21 (Anthony J. Celebrezze fireboat home)

– The “spoon” pier on Scranton Flats

– Jefferson Ave., site of the 1952 Cuyahoga River fire

– Towpath Mounds overlooking Cleveland’s industrial valley
