During a challenging year for events, Canalway Partners was pleased to host an in-person Towpath Marathon for 600 runners on Sunday, October 11! The weather was great and it was clear runners were happy to get out for a REAL race on a beautiful morning inside Cleveland Metroparks’ Ohio & Erie Canalway Reservation. Several runners reported meeting the Boston Marathon qualifying standard and Peter Keating, hoping to compete in Boston’s first ever Para Athlete Divisions in 2021, finished the Towpath Marathon two hours under the qualifying standard. More on Peter’s story courtesy of FOX 8.

Towpath Marathon runner entries directly support the development of the Towpath Trail, Canal Basin Park, and dozens of projects within the Ohio & Erie Canalway National Heritage Area, projects that make our community stronger and more vibrant.

For those who have the Towpath Marathon, half, or 10k under their belt, you’ve still got time to join the elite Towpath Trilogy club by completing the Virtual Towpath Half and Ten-Ten before the end of the year. Details are at https://canalwaypartners.com/events/towpath-trilogy/

Since we couldn’t host an awards ceremony after yesterday’s Towpath Marathon, Half, and 10k, we wanted to be sure to recognize the women’s and men’s overall podium for the three races and top masters women and men for the same races. Complete results are at https://towpathtrilogy.com/results-2/

We’d also like to give a huge thank you to our wonderful volunteers who staffed aid stations and key locations along the course. Our runners told us you were so great and helped boost their mood so many times during the race.
