Join us for a presentation with Dr. Leslie Heaphy! The program will focus primarily on the Negro Leaguers who went to Mexico to play in the 1930s and 1940s in the Mexican League run by Jorge Pasquel. Pasquel’s increasing attempts to lure players to Mexico led to his being temporarily banned from the United States. We will explore these efforts by Pasquel and how Negro Leaguers fared while playing in Mexico.
