10:30 a.m.: Alternative History of Cleveland by Jon Wlasiuk
In An Alternative History of Cleveland, Jon Wlasiuk uncovers the mysteries, devastations, and human incursions that have shaped the region. Here, you’ll encounter the giant megafauna that roamed the area until their mysterious extinction, Indigenous civilizations who first shaped the land and harnessed its natural resources and the numerous Clevelanders today who want to reshape the city’s relationship with the natural environment.

11:30 a.m.: Cleveland’s Ohio City Neighborhood: A Visual History By Tom KaschalkJoin Cleveland author Tom Kaschalk for a look at the history of Ohio City—one of Cleveland’s oldest and most vibrant neighborhoods. Ohio City’s story begins with conflict, including the dramatic 1836 “Battle of the Bridge,” and evolves into one of connection, growth, and resilience. Through historic photographs and storytelling, Tom traces neighborhood’s journey from its immigrant roots through decades of change. Books will be available for purchase and signing following the presentation.

1:30 p.m.: Cleveland Curse by Dafe Eifert
Cleveland Curse is an entertaining allegory that offers an intriguing explanation why the team and their fans have suffered such devastating pain and suffering all these years: They are cursed.

The journey begins on December 26, 1964, when team owner Art Modell meets a mysterious stranger smartly dressed in a suit and long, dark gray cashmere overcoat who presents some papers for him to sign that he says will ensure a Championship win for the Browns the following day. Is Modell making a deal with the Devil that would forever seal their fate?

2:30 p.m. Sweaty Stories from the Cleveland Schvitz by Joshua Womack
Author Joshua Womack tells the story of those who lived, breathed and sweated in one of Cleveland’s most iconic landmarks. In Cleveland, there’s a place where sweat, steak and friendship collide. Tucked away on a dead-end road in the once-bustling area of Kinsman, the Schvitz is where men have come for decades to let it all hang out. Wrapped in towels and mystery, this nondescript, utilitarian building has captured the hearts and pores of many.
