Why Participate in Walk to a Park Day? .

Access to green space is crucial for our happiness, health, and overall well-being. Quality parks and green spaces are key to building equitable and resilient communities. Ensuring access to nature—close to where people live, in both urban and rural areas—is essential for health, fairness, and justice. By participating in National Walk to a Park Day you can help:

  • Promote Community Health: Communities are stronger, more connected, and healthier when they have access to parks.

  • Support Public Lands: Participation helps bring attention to parks, and put more parks within a 10 minute walk of more people.

  • Foster a Love for Nature: Inspire others to appreciate and protect our natural spaces.

Let’s make this National Walk to a Park Day a memorable one! For more details on the reasons behind Walk to a Park Day, please visit tpl.org/walk.
