The cost of the Towpath Half increases as the race gets closer. Towpath Half prices also depend on race length you choose to run.
Half-Marathon Length:
Jan. 8 – March 10: $70
March 11 – April 11: $75
April 12 – April 13: $95
5-Mile Length:
Jan. 5 – March 10: $40
March 11 – April 11: $45
April 12 – April 13, 2023: $55
You can pay an additional fee to have your t-shirt and race packet mailed to you if you register before March 31.
All runners will receive a short-sleeved technical shirt.
Half marathoners receive finishers medals.

You can register for the Towpath Half until noon on April 13.
To have your packet mailed to you, you must register by March 31. If you register via the mail, your form must be received by April 10.
There will be no race day registration.
You can walk the course of your race. Half marathon walkers are able to start 1 hour earlier than the official start time to ensure they finish before the race starts. Be sure to sign up for an early start time if walking.
When you sign up virtually, you run the race on your own time and at your own preferred location and submit results online. Learn how to submit results on Run Signup here.
You will still need to pick up your packet at the available times or pay to have your packet mailed to you.
Virtual runners are not eligible to win awards.
Runners should be on site and ready to run 20 minutes before the race start time that was assigned during your registration. Please leave plenty of time to find parking and walk to the start line.
Top Three Overall Male & Female Open
Top Three Male & Female in Age Division (19 and under, 20-24, 25-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-59, 60-64, 65-69, 70 and over) for both the Half Marathon & 5-Miler.
All winners receive a photo award commemorating the race.
Fleet Feet awards a $50, $40, $30 gift certificate to the 1st, 2nd, & 3rd overall male & female finishers.
You may also choose to have your award mailed to you for $7. (Fill out form to have your award mailed to you after the race).
No, all entries are non-refundable. Once we’ve received and processed your entry, you will not receive a refund and entry fees are not transferable to the next year’s race or any other race. You do have the option to switch your registration to the virtual race option.
If the in-person events are canceled due to the COVID-19 pandemic, all participants will be automatically converted to the virtual event. This race will not be postponed to a future date.
If you are interested in transferring your registration to another runner, email Julie@canalwaypartners.com. There is a $10 transfer fee.
You may transfer your entry to another person for a fee of $10.00.
To complete a Transfer, go to your profile on Run Signup and chose either the refund transfer or gift transfer option. Enter in the Transferee’s name and email to send them the transferring registration. Once the transferee completes the registration, the original registrant is removed from the race.

Results will be posted here on the day of the race, only a few minutes after you complete your race.
The surface of the Towpath Trail in the Ohio and Erie Canal Reservation is asphalt and mostly flat.
The race course is relatively flat. It includes one downhill shortly after the start line, but because of the location of the finish line, runners do not run back up this hill. The suspension bridges over Granger Road and Warner Road are the only inclines the runners will encounter.
Yes. Please be mindful of other runners while wearing them.
No, the Towpath Trail can vary in size from 8 to 10 feet wide and with runners racing in both directions in separate race divisions, we do not allow dogs out of concerns for safety.
