The new Towpath Trail Lantern Parade is a celebration of light, creativity and sustainability welcoming spring to the banks of the Cuyahoga River. The parade will take place on March 12 at 6:30 PM. It will start and end at Sokolowski’s Overlook and include a 1.6 mile roundtrip along the Towpath Trail. Revolution Brass Band will lead the parade with a New Orleans Second-Line style performance.

The parade will feature local artists displaying illuminated art made from recycled materials. The lanterns will celebrate nature and encourage environmentalism.

Planning to join us? Make and bring your own lantern from recycled materials and a battery powered light! Instructional videos can be found on our Facebook page but feel free to get creative.

Our partners at Upcycle Parts Shop are also hosting lantern-making workshops on March 5 and March 12. We can’t wait to see what you make!

Free parking will be available at 1429 Abbey Ave. Overflow parking will be available behind Annunciation Greek Catholic Church at 2187 W 14th St, Cleveland, OH 44113.

Registration for the parade is encouraged, but not required.
