National Register Historic Districts Preservation Showcase

2 – 4:30 pm at 1316 Old River Road, Cleveland, 44113 

This presentation by Antonin Robert (GBX Group, President of Community Development), Peter Ketter (Sandvick Architects, Historic Preservation Director), Tom Yablonsky (Preservation Advocate), and Richard Pace (Cumberland Development) highlights National Register Historic Districts. Two designated districts flank Canal Basin Park: Cleveland Centre and Old River Road. The current projects highlighted during this presentation include 1575 Merwin Road, B&O Railroad Station, and Samsel properties. Attendance is limited to 40 people. Following the presentation, there will be a reception at Flat Iron Cafe, allowing for a casual follow-up discussion with the speakers and presenters. This event is sponsored by Downtown Cleveland Alliance.

Cuyahoga River By Boat

4 - 6 pm & 7 - 9 pm at Merwin's Wharf floating dock, 1785 Merwin Ave, Cleveland, 44113

Cleveland Metroparks Historical Interpreter Doug Kusak is your guide on a 2-hour Cuyahoga River boat ride aboard the eLCee2. We’ll provide a river view while we discuss famous fires on the river, bridges, cargo ships, reclamation, and so much more. We’ll look at what was, what is, and what’s to come.River traffic and bridge operation affect our route.

Comedian Mike Polk’s Twisted Takes on Historic CLE Photos  - Cleveland Stories Dinner Party

5 pm doors | 7 pm show at Music Box Supper Club, 1148 Main Ave, Cleveland, 44113

This event is part of the Music Box’s long-running Cleveland Stories series. This night will be hosted by Cleveland’s favorite stand-up comic, Mike Polk Jr. and John Skrtic, Chief of Collections at the Cleveland Public Libraries. John mines the library’s collection of great old pictures of Cleveland, many that have never been seen before in public. Mike Polk will add his twisted thoughts on what is really happening in the pictures. This event will be educational and hilarious!

Enjoy a 90-minute guided walking tour of Cleveland’s Civic Center District which highlights Cleveland’s Mall Plan, the second most intact City Beautiful Movement Plan.
