Join historian Judy MacKeigan as we explore Stage 4 of the Towpath Trail through the area known historically as “The Flats.” Humans have been shaping this area since 1800. We will look for current structures and remains of old ones while watching out for the abundant wildlife that shares this human-built environment.

10 am – 3 pm at Baseball Heritage Museum at League Park, 6601 Lexington Avenue, Cleveland, 44103
A day-long celebration of Cleveland sports history led by brilliant authors and historians: Learn and explore the origins of baseball in Cleveland. Author Q&A to follow.

10 am-4 pm at Crawford Auto-Aviation Museum, 10825 East Boulevard, Cleveland, 44106
You’re invited to help the Crawford Auto-Aviation Museum celebrate its 80th anniversary with “Hoods Up History Day” on Saturday from 10 am to 4 pm! Drive your fun or classic car to the Crawford for free parking and a car show in our lot. Inside, you will find: Crawford volunteers and staff networking; hoods up on our vehicles so you can see what makes them go; behind-the-scenes access to additional vehicle storage, and food and beverages for purchase.

Enjoy a 90-minute guided walking tour that highlights the history and redevelopment of Ohio & Erie Canal and Canal Basin.
Event is free to attend; however, registration is requested.
10 am – 6 pm at Veterans Memorial Bridge, 2433 Superior Viaduct, Cleveland, 44113
This self-guided tour allows visitors to experience the original streetcar station and tracks, unique views of the Cuyahoga River, Lake Erie and downtown Cleveland. Visitors can also explore ideas to reactivate the underside of the bridge for future pedestrian use, and can provide feedback on how they believe the space could best serve residents and visitors.

11 am-4 pm at Hart Crane Memorial Park, 1820 Merwin Ave, Cleveland, 44113
Join Canalway at Hart Crane Memorial Park for a full day of fun along the river. Cuyahoga River Rally celebrates the history of the Cuyahoga River and the lifestyle enhancements clean water provides with an all day festival, live music and free history tours. Activities include riverside yoga, kayaking tours, boat rides, walking tours, biking tours and more.
Free event. Tickets are not required to enter the event, however, advance registration for some tours is required, as space is limited.
4 pm at Anton Grdina School, 2955 East 71st Street, Cleveland, 44104
Take an onsite tour to learn the history of this pedestrian suspension bridge, closed in 1966. An important site in the history of Cleveland’s racial divides, the bridge was also mentioned in the 1976 Federal court order on school desegregation. Note: Please wear sturdy, closed-toe shoes or hiking boots, as the walk will be over uneven terrain. This special event is presented by Perspectus Architecture.
