Cleveland has one of the largest concentrations of historic buildings on the National Register of Historic places that have been converted from their original use into hotels. Come take a walking tour of these architectural treasures led by Tom Yablonsky, Cleveland Historic Preservation Advocate.

2:30-3:30 pm at William G. Mather Steamship, 601 Erieside Ave, Cleveland, 44114
Join Cleveland historian, Franklin Piccirillo and Tom Yablonsky for an overview of Cleveland’s role in shipbuilding on Lake Erie, from Pioneer Entrepreneurs to Industrialists. This presentation will be hosted inside the historic William G. Mather Steamship. After the presentation, a guided tour of the Mather to immediately follow. Explore the 1925-built Mather from stem to stern and see its huge cargo holds, brass and oak pilot house, elegant guest quarters and four-story engine room. Experience the golden era of steamships on one of the best, the flagship of The Cleveland-Cliffs Steamship Company fleet until 1952.

Join Dunham Tavern Museum & Gardens for an open house. Once a stagecoach stop on the Buffalo-Cleveland-Detroit post road, the 1824 home of Rufus and Jane Pratt Dunham is the oldest building still standing on its original site in the city of Cleveland, offering a glimpse of history and insight into the lifestyles of early Ohio settlers and travelers.

Enjoy a 90-minute guided walking tour of Ohio City. This tour highlights Ohio City’s architecture, early civic, religious, ethnic, and commercial history.
